Marco Parolo felt the 3-1 defeat to France "did not precisely mirror" Italy's performance.
Graziano Pellè had evened out after an Anthony Martial opener, yet Olivier Giroud and Layvin Kurzawa capitalized on cautious blunders.
"It was a touch of an out of line result, despite the fact that France are solid," Lazio midfielder Parolo told Rai Sport.
"We had our odds as well, the distinction is that they scored and we didn't, which is the thing that numbers in football.
"I think the 3-1 result did not precisely reflect what happened throughout the entire game."
