Juventus conquered Dinamo Zagreb 4-0

The Bianconeri were looking for their first Champions League win of the season after a 0-0 draw with Sevilla, but lost Medhi Benatia, Daniele Rugani, Kwadwo Asamoah and Claudio Marchisio to injury. It had been a tough time for Dinamo, as Coach Zlatko Kranjcar took over in the summer and resigned after three consecutive defeats in all competition on September 18. Caretaker manager Zeljko Sopic sensationally dropped star player Ante Coric following a row over his attitude, while Petar Stojanovic, Alexandru Matel and Ali Karimi were injured.

Gonzalo Higuain volleyed over under pressure on a Dani Alves cross and Hernanes pulled a couple of long-range efforts off target, but the tempo was initially very slow from both sides. The visitors dominated possession, as Dinamo didn’t even try to get out of their own half.

Juve broke the deadlock when a long Leonardo Bonucci ball was flicked on by Leonardo Sigali, but Pjanic snuck in there before goalkeeper Adrian Semper could arrive and prodded it into the empty net.
